  最早读了小说全集中的该册，比之将军族的直接而情感洋溢，夜行货车的风格单一，晚期作品当是极高水准文字与历史思索的书写典范，陈映真一生的所思所想在小说领域的倾囊交付。《山路》果真有初次读令人垂泪的力道，《归乡》、《忠孝公园》探讨的历史和人物流徙已是小说家目光所至的极限。无论何时，社会换成什么天地，他依然用他左派的精神关注着、去爱着那些人，拷问读者反省他所处的腐蚀环境。受托孤的赵南栋，陈映真向往的新中国，两岸都回以淡忘与无继的历史虚无，享乐无度的消费狂欢。如果陈映真晚年无病，他必将如作品中展现的意志、不合时宜地去爱这个祖国。而与历史政治纠缠不休到疯狂的陈映真，晚年没有写出更多作品实为莫大的憾事。

  插画很有爱，里面的主要人物也不复杂，前面的人物图和故事发生的地点图很适合用来梳理故事，翻到最后才知道还有两本啊~不知道希赫利克到非洲寻亲又会是怎样的历险？从袜子这个确认容易在生活里少一只找不到的情况来看，我不得不要低下头看看究竟是我的袜子小了还是精灵们想偷走它！在角色塑造上，精灵和人之间的价值观的探讨也是很有意思的，又或者其实就是简单的一个故事，精灵里也有阶层（曾经的大司令和要称霸的库德拉），也有挨饿的（非洲精灵们）还有袜子界的公益精灵（希赫利克的父母）等，有一定的想象空间，推荐3年级以上的孩子阅读。
